Before protection starts

Protection stays off until you read the in-extension data notice and choose “Agree & enable” on this device. Agreement is stored locally and is not granted by browser sync. You can turn protection off at any time.

What the extension handles

Websites and page content

Scripts inspect page elements, visible text and consent controls to find cookie requests, distinguish access restrictions and identify supported ad placements. The current HTTP(S) tab URL and domain are used for the popup, site pauses and cookie cleanup. Browser network rules match request URLs against bundled lists. These URLs and page contents are not sent to the developer or stored as a browsing history. The extension does not capture keystrokes or deliberately extract passwords, messages or account details.

Cookies

Strict and Balanced query cookies applicable to the visited page and remove cookies whose names match the bundled tracker-name list. The browser API returns cookie objects, which may incidentally include other cookies and their values. The code uses names and scope metadata to decide what to remove; it does not read the value field, save cookie contents or transmit cookies. The browser's own cookie settings remain unchanged.

A local counter

One aggregate number of banners handled is saved in storage.local to display in the popup. No per-website counts, browsing URLs, visit timestamps or request log are persisted. The current tab's latest consent provider/action and handled count are held temporarily in memory, cleared on navigation, tab closure or background-worker restart.

Preferences and explicitly paused domains

Protection on/off, cookie profile, ad-block setting, onboarding completion and the domains you explicitly pause use browser storage.sync when available, with local storage as the fallback. Paused domains can reveal websites you use. When browser sync is enabled, the browser provider—for Chrome, Google—may transfer these settings between your signed-in devices under its sync settings and privacy policy. The developer does not receive this data. The aggregate counter and device agreement do not sync.

Your consent choices and websites

Strict and Balanced attempt to refuse optional cookies; Relaxed may choose acceptance if refusal is unavailable. Website controls may send your choice to the website or its consent provider using the website's own code. Those parties' policies apply to their processing. Hiding a banner does not record refusal or revoke an earlier choice. Protection cannot guarantee that every tracker is blocked or that a site honors refusal. The extension is not a way around subscriptions, logins or paywalls.

Sharing and Limited Use

The extension does not send browsing data, cookies, counters or page content to the developer, advertising platforms or analytics services. It does not sell data, build advertising profiles, use data for credit decisions or provide it for human review. Its use of information accessed through Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the disclosed consent and blocking features. All scripts and filter lists are packaged with the extension; no remote code or filter subscriptions are downloaded.

Retention, deletion and your controls

The aggregate counter remains until you choose “Reset count” on the extension's Privacy & data page or uninstall the extension. There is no automatic expiry. Remove a pause by resuming protection for that site; the resulting change uses browser sync when available. Turn the main switch off to stop protection. Uninstalling removes the extension's local storage from that browser profile. Other devices and browser-provider sync copies are governed by the browser's sync controls; uninstalling one copy does not certify deletion everywhere. To clear synced preferences, remove or disable extension sync and manage the stored sync data through your browser account settings. We have no server copy to retrieve or delete.

Upgrading from an older local build removes legacy per-site statistics from local storage and removes the old synced statistics key, retaining only the aggregate count. Previously synced copies outside this browser cannot be independently verified as erased.

The policy page and support

The bundled policy works offline and includes no analytics, external fonts, forms or tracking scripts. A public copy will be hosted separately. Its hosting providers and any processing needed to deliver that website will be disclosed there. Opening a public policy page is separate from extension operation.

If you contact support, you choose what to send; your email service and the publisher's Gmail service process that communication so the publisher can respond. Do not send passwords, cookie values or private browsing information. The extension does not automatically attach diagnostics.

Changes

The date above identifies this policy. Material changes to extension data practices will be disclosed in the extension before the new handling starts, with renewed agreement where required. The public policy and the bundled copy will describe the same released behavior.
